And, the Allson Hotel Singapore is only a 20-minute drive from the International Airport. Very conveniently located
Not only is the hotel conveniently located, it is also conveniently situated between 2 MRT stations - City Hall MRT Station and Bugis MRT Station. FYI, it is only a 6 to 10 minute stroll to either stations.
As well, numerous bus services are available near the hotel. Hence the hotel provides easy access to some of Singapore’s best places of interest, entertainment and sightseeing.
Whilst on the 'convenience' theme, a hawker food centre is right next to the Allson Hotel Singapore - this is a large open air food court containing several food stalls offering the best variety of local food and cheap eats.
This is where you can get a real taste and value of what the locals go for, and you get to be adventurous with your food choices. And if you are looking for restaurants, there are many close by.

Verdict on The Allson Hotel Singapore
Overall, our experience at the hotel was enjoyable. What we liked about the hotel was the great location. You could easily just walk out of the hotel, and walk to the food court, MRT station and other attractions.
Where the hotel is, it is literally a walking distance (minimum, a 10 min walk) to the marina, suntec city, raffles hotel, Bugis, and chimes (an old church refurbished into restaurants and bars).
What's more, the Hawker Food Center is super. This is the place where we ate for most of our stay. It's cheap, and has the best variety of local food to enjoy from.
And when we wanted to get around the Island, we either walked and rode on the clean and efficient MRT trains. For people who wants to catch the taxi, it is a short taxi drive to Chinatown and Orchard Road.
Although the rooms are on the simple side for a 4 star hotel -it is comfortable, clean and the décor has a strong Asian influence.
The Downside - let's face it, no hotel is ever perfect. Some will find it great, and some will not. Period. However, the rooms could be viewed as small for some guests, and the beds are very firm. A little dated.
But if you are not too fussed about all that, but just looking for a hotel that is well located with a comfortable room, then the Allson Hotel Singapore does offer that for value.

"The place was great, excellent location and really friendly staff. Had a good breakfast choice. Basic but nice rooms, very clean. Close to raffles hotel and chjimes with loads of shopping and food outlets. close to trains which take you all over the island for cheap and you even get your money back" - Portion of actual user review on Yahoo Travel
"Previously called the Allson. We stayed for 4 days and on arrival was updated to an executive room which was excellent. The staff were always very friendly and nothing was a problem. They organised all our trips with a minimum of fuss. The buffet breakfast was quite ok but lacking the quality of some hotels." - Portion of actual user review on tripadvisor
"The hotels location is great, next to national library. Not a very plush hotel though. Has a restaurant. Breakfast is also ok but not the best. Gym , swimming pool not worth the time. Rooms are average but clean, staff is also good" - Portion of actual user review on tripadvisor
"Stayed here with partner and young kid for a few nights whilst we explored singapore. Great value for money. Double bed, small-ish room, no complaints. Hawker market downstairs for meals." - Portion of actual user review on tripadvisor
"There is a Thai restaurant thats about 2 blocks left as you leave the hotel. They have a pretty good menu and the price is reasonable for a sit down atmosphere. Set lunches is what I would recommend. Try and avoid the lunch crowd. The food court/outlet next to the hotel has lots of varieties and rather tasty too." - Portion of actual user review on agoda.com
"It's a little dated. Has been maintained well but wear and tear rearing their ugly heads. Air conditioning needs to be overhauled..maintains the cool but thats about as cold as it's gonna get." - Portion of actual user review on agoda.com
"My wife and I were on a 4 day stopover in Singapore from Canada to Malaysia. For the price that we booked at Agoda it was worth the value. It's rather difficult to get a hotel that is centrally located and with that much convenience for the price in Singapore.
The concierge was very helpful from the day we checked in till the day we left. The hotel does need some sprucing and the air conditioning looked into. We would recommend this hotel for short stays." - Portion of actual user review on agoda.com
"Pretty clean and quiet and nice little pool and minigym and several restaurants and ok breakfast and good staff. Big room and 5 min to Bugis." - Portion of actual user review on agoda
